Gardening 101

Did I know what I was doing? Not exactly and if I had known my whole body would be aching today, I might have spread it out over a week! Ok, I am sounding pretty wimpy right now but as you can see we gardened yesterday! First time for me and I can say it wasn't to bad. Of course I forgot to take a before picture but first I weeded for about an hour and a half (fingers hurt to type by the way), dealing with fire ants which is not fun, then we laid soil down and while I planted the flowers Jordan laid the mulch and whala'! The funniest part of it all was us being at Home Depot trying to figure out what we needed to complete this project. The guy that helped us probably thought we were crazy by the questions we were asking. He even offered to help us google gardening inside the store to help us out. Embarassing! Jordan topped it off when he said " This is a very married thing to do" as he was strolling around a flat bed full of mulch, soil, and flowers. I had to laugh because it was so true. All in all, I was pretty impressed by the end product and am so excited to have a pretty front yard!

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone! This is our 2nd Easter in Texas and thankfully we have great friends that have had us over both years with their families so we weren't alone on this holiday. This is when I really wish we had family closer... holidays. But turns out we had a great day!

This chair was one of Maddie's Easter presents and can you tell she LOVES it! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Mimi got this cute Easter dress for Maddie and she looked adorable. Too bad I couldn't get a better picture but you get the idea! Thanks Mimi!

Yay, Books! The Easter Bunny brought Maddie lots of books, her favorite!

Happy Easter!!

Sea World!

Friday we got 2 year seasons passes to Sea World and had a great time with our friends, Nina, Dom and Tanner! It was a beautiful day in San Antonio and we had a blast seeing everything. Maddie might be a little young to really enjoy everything and would probably rather hang out at the kiddie playland but she was a trooper and did great.

Maddie loved dipping her hands into the dolphin tank!

Yay Shamu!

The kiddos needed a break from their strollers. Maddie loves playing with Tanner.

Bye, Bye, Binky!

We never really called it that, but hey it rhymed! Yes it is true no more pacifier. Madison is almost 15 months and I have heard you don't want to go any longer than that to get rid of it because it becomes more and more of an attachment. So I decided I would wait until the plane ride was over and then start the weaning.
The Trick: It became naptime monday afternoon so I snipped the end off the pacifier and gave it to her. She put it in her mouth, took it out, looked at it and tried to give it back to me as if to say, "Fix it Mommy, it's broken!" Needless to say it took a little while to go to bed that day and night but today she did great! Just a little one minute cry and out she went. My only worry is that she is in her bed sucking her thumb now! We'll see!

It's Official!

Last week Jordan finally got the announcement at work that he won a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico for two in June! Can you tell I am stoked! It is a 5 day, all expenses paid vacation just south of Cancun. It didn't come without hard work though! Jordan has worked hard since the day he started with Dell and this just shows his dedication and that it is well deserved. Good job babe and I can't wait until June! I am going to be missing my little sister, Brandy's, graduation which I am so sad about and I will be thinking about you but Maddie will be there to cheer you on!

Vegas fun!

Last week Maddie and I were in Vegas for the week to see the blessing of Grayson and to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Little Grayson is such a sweetheart, he just lays there and never makes a peep! I hope my second is that good! The rest of the week was alot of fun with the fam and I got to see a couple of my girlfriends from high school which is always a blast. Good times!
Baby Grayson

Cousins... these two are hilarious together! I wish we lived closer so they could play more often. Maddie loves playing with Bella.

I loved this picture my Mom took of Grandpa and Maddie. Poor guy, he is the official babysitter when I come into town! Thanks Dad!
