Fun With the Weldy's

My best friend from high school and her husband came to visit us last weekend and we had such a great time with them. I was so excited to show them around where we live and finally hang out more than just a dinner date! We had a packed weekend trying to fit everything in but we had so much fun going from place to place.

Besides the miscommunication and the hour delay in picking them up in the middle of the night on Wednesday (not Thursday!) they finally made it to our house! Thursday we went to the Iguana Grill and had a nice lunch overlooking the lake. Jordan was able to meet us from work which was great. That night we took them to Rudy's... btw everything we did was surrounded by food! Hey we had to show them a good time with all of the fun places we have to eat around here!

Friday came along and we had some Freebirds for lunch (thanks to Jerome riding Jordan's bike in the heat when he didn't have to...another story for another day...). After lunch and Drake's nap we went down to the Domain and us girls checked out Charming Charlie's...love that store. Jerome checked out Dick's which was just as great in a boys mind right?...can you tell Jerome was a good sport?

That night we got a sitter for Drake and went to Chuy's for some chips, salsa and queso. We didn't have time to eat because we needed to be downtown and with the crazy Chuy's crowd that was not happening! So cool story... Chuy's has a little waiting room while you wait for your table. You can sit and eat chips and salsa while you wait. Again it was packed. So Jerome and Jordan are scoping out seats for us to sit and this nicest couple told Jordan that they were going to be called next if we wanted their table. So Brittni and I sit down on the extra seats and we started talking to them for a couple of minutes telling them that Britt and Jerome were visiting from out of town and what we had done so far and they told us that we had to get the Chuy's ooey gooey dip (I think that is what it was called) that isn't on the menu anymore. Anyways we were like ok that sounds great, but probably not going to order it. Their buzzer went off, said our goodbyes and off they went to eat. So we are chowing down on chips, salsa & queso and 10 mins later the guy we were talking to comes a brings us the ooey gooey dip! He said his wife told him that we had to try it, especially since we had Britt and Jerome visiting. So nice. Gotta love the southern hospitality of Texas!

Previously on our way to the Domain, remember to go shopping, we stopped to get gas and Britt went in to get a drink and she comes out with some scratch off lottery cards. They won $56 off of them! We all couldn't believe it! So this picture is downtown in front of the Texas Lottery.
Downtown we went to Esthers Follies which is a comedy club. So funny, but what was even funnier was that Jerome got picked out of the audience in one of the sketches. What is even more funny is that we had been joking with him the whole way down that we had to get a good seat just in case Jerome was to be picked, which Jerome was not to fond of. We totally thought our seats were safe so when the guy came down to get Jerome we all about died!! Again Jerome was a great sport!

We walked around downtown after the show and went in the Driskill Hotel which is very well known for being haunted. It's really old but still really beautiful. Brittni was not keen on going inside of the Hotel at all but we all had a good laugh inside reading all of the haunted stories!

Saturday we headed down to New Braufels and had fun at Schlitterbahn all day. For those that don't know what Schlitterbahn is...it is the largest water park in the nation and is all plumbed by the Comel River, which means that it is all natural water and that it is FREEZING water! Especially on a day that was totally overcast and the high was 87 degrees. Needless to say we still had a blast but it was chilly!

Sunday unfortunately the fun came to an end and Brittni and Jerome left back to Vegas. We had such a great time with them! Britt and I hadn't hung out like that since high school so it was so fun! Can't wait until next time!

Who Needs CPK on a Friday Night?

Yum. A couple weekends ago Jordan and I made these pizzas and they were delicious. Gotta love that Pioneer Woman! We altered the recipe a little bit by adding some fresh pineapple and I didn't have a red onion so I used a sweet onion, but with the fresh mozzarella cheese and the fresh grilled BBQ chicken it was delish! I didn't use her pizza dough recipe but I will definately try it next time! Enjoy!

Super Easy, Super Cute

My friend's baby shower was coming up so I decided to dive into sewing again and I am so excited how these bibs turned out! Like I said, Super easy and super cute.

Weekend In Review

My blogging has been slow lately, what is the deal-io?! Well since we have been back from our long vacation we have just been hanging out getting back to a norm. Not to much that is blog worthy. So I decided I would do a little weekend in review. Friday Drake and I hung out at home mostly while Jordan worked late. Drake loves the balloons we get from HEB and was pretty entertained that night. I still remember Maddie loving getting the same balloons. The minute we would pull up to HEB she would say "Na-Noon, Na-Noon!"

Saturday was the big kick off to the football season, yippee...(heavy sarcasm). I think every year I have a post on football. I really like the parties we have with friends for the games, I really like the people I am around at the parties, I really dislike the actual game, and I really dislike how football is all consuming of my husbands life... I could go on but I am not. It's always the same story..... So back to Saturday, Texas and BYU played and we had a great time with friends. So here we are in our Texas outfits.
Sunday we went to church and today is Labor Day! We took Drake downtown and ate at Chuys, yum, and then to Zilker Park and played on the playground for a while. He was loving life going down this slide.

It was sooo humid and hot today. Oh it was hot. When it is that humid though Drake's hair starts to really curl in the back. I love it. Now that it is a little longer his curly locks are coming out.
While we were there we caught a ride on the Zilker Zephyr train. It was really fun, the first time we had been on it. Drake loved pointing out the birds, dogs, ducks on the ride.

By this point it is about 3 in the afternoon and Drake still hasn't taken a nap and doing pretty well. We were on a hunt for his Halloween costume and on the way we got him a recorder. I saw it in the dollar section and let's be honest it brought back so many memories of Mrs. Bonnell at Marion Earl elementary! We played them all the time in her class, oh memories. Anyways I had to get it for Drake and yes I played it too trying to remember the old songs. :)

Finally we were on the way home and stopped by the cemetery to see Maddie. While we were gone on our trip Nina brought some beautiful flowers for Maddie and we loved seeing them. It was so sweet, Jordan put Drake down next to Maddie's headstone and he immediately pointed at her picture and leaned down and kissed her. He did it a couple of times and would wonder off to smell some other people's flowers and come back and kiss Maddie again. So sweet.
Fun weekend in review and ready to start a new week! Hopefully things to be blog worthy of!

Silly Boy

When I am getting ready for the day; shower, makeup, hair, ect. the routine, Drake usually hangs around but SOMETIMES he is a little to quiet for my liking and I have to go check up on him to see what kind of business he is in to. Not this time, I heard him getting frustrated and grunting so I went and found him like this. He had managed to put on not 1 or 2 but 3 of my swimsuits over his head and couldn't get them off. This kid makes me laugh. Silly Boy.
