Minute to Win It

Friday night we all went out to celebrate Nina's Birthday at Buca di Peppo and came back to have some fun playing Minute to Win it games, and fun we had! I am always up for a great night full of games. So the plan was to have everyone come prepared with some of the games. Abs were sore by the end of the night because of all the laughing.

To start off was the Hanky Panky by Jason....

Use only one hand to pull tissues out of a tissue box one-at-a-time until box is empty.

Next up was Junk in the Trunk...

Wiggle a box filled with ping pong balls and attached to your waist until the box is empty.

Then on to Face the Cookie...

Contestants, using only their faces, must move three cookies individually from their forehead to their mouth.

And last but not least Johnny Applestack...

Stack a set of 5 apples on top of each other and the structure must remain in place for three consecutive seconds.

As you can see from the pictures it was a fun night! We didn't even get through half of the games we planned on so I am looking forward to doing it again!

Fanatics

Many of you know the Lost Finale was on Sunday night. This group of guys below are what I would call "fanatics" of this show, my husband being the ring leader. I got to season 3 and had to drop it, not my cup of tea, but after 6 years the show has finally come to an end. These guys were dedicated to this show by going every Tuesday to the Alamo Draft house and watching each episode on the big screen. So of course for the finale they had to have a Lost party, with "Hurley" hummus and Dharma cupcakes on the menu. I of course had a girls night with Melinda and Linda watching the fabulous "Far and Away"... now that is my cup of tea!

These cupcakes took alot of convincing to do on Jordan's part. He wanted all of the signs of the Dharma Initiative on the cupcakes, at first I was reluctant but in the end I actually had a lot of fun decorating them. I spy a rabbit, a swan, a flame, a wrench, a tree, a wave... what do you see?

My Little Man

I haven't updated on Drake in a while and thought I would post a couple of pics. He is now 14 months old now, almost 15 and couldn't be cuter. He isn't talking much at all but definately understands alot. He is a fantastic eater, just like Maddie, he will eat whatever I give him and alot of it! Definately a heathy kid. He loves his blanky and to be played with. Wherever you are he is too, it cracks me up. He will be fine playing with toys when I am in the room with him but the second I leave and go sit on the couch or go somewhere else he is right behind me and won't leave until I go somewhere else. I know he gets bored half of the time, so I don't understand why he just won't go play by himself! Who knows. He is into this scratching thing, which I dislike sooo much! He will just come up to us and claw our knee or my arm or sometimes my face even and look at us, he clearly knows that we don't like it because we tell him all of the time but he will do it over and over. It's just a phase right? Isn't everything! :) When we go outside on our back porch he will only stay on the porch. He will not go on the grass! It is hilarious. I purposely throw a ball out on the grass but he will not go and get it. I take him with me out on the grass and the minute I let go of his hand he heads right back up to the patio. He doesn't cry or anything, he just prefers the patio. Good thing we poured it! He makes me smile, he makes me laugh, he makes me frustrated, he makes me mad, we have all of the emotions in our home everyday but I wouldn't trade him for the world!

This was on our way back from Dallas. He kept sucking on his toes and I was making a big deal out of it and he thought it was the funniest thing in the world! I WISH I had a video camera because I have never heard him laugh so hard in his life!

He is getting so big and thinning out, not much baby chub anymore!

Drake loves to dance, I mean loves it. ANYtime he hears music he is shaking his hips and bouncing up and down. This is a video Jordan captured.

Projects

For Mother's Day, which was a fabulous day!, Jordan got me a sewing machine! I had been asking for one and he totally spoiled me! Sewing is definately an art that takes soooo long to perfect and I am no where near that perfection. To go down memory lane for a second... only if I new I would have a blog in my future I would have carried around a camera back then! So no pictures to document but I took a sewing class in high school for a year, maybe just a semester, with my good friends Robyn and Amber. We thought, oh this will be an easy A for sure... uh, our teacher was so strict with everything! I really didn't use anything I made out of the class, my measurements were always 2 sizes to small!, and I sewed my finger while chatting, going clearly to fast, yep needle broke off in 3 places in my index finger. Needless to say in the end with all of these mishaps it was still a great experience. This was nearly 8 years ago and little by little more memories keep flying back to memory as I try to pick up this new hobby. I mainly wanted to get this sewing machine for little, fun projects and to make fun baby gifts. So onto my first project....

A toddler swim cover-up! Isn't it the cutest thing ever! I was so proud of myself. My main intentions of making this was for my friend's little girl for her first birthday. But clearly this was going to be way to big. So onto the next one...

This cute little one. Poor Drake was my model and I think he knew I was putting something girly on because he hated it everytime! So it's towel on the inside and cotton on the outside. These were so much fun to make. Can't wait till I have another little girl!

Onto my next project... A missionary primary activity! I found out how to do this online and they turned out so cute! It is just one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper folded into a shirt and then I added the tie and tag, slipped the invite inside and wha- lah you have a cute invite! More pics to come of all the cute ideas my presidency and I have for this activity!

Round Rock Express

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Round Rock Express baseball game with all of our friends and had a great time together! One of the main highlights was to have Will Ferrell at the game! Watch the news tonight and you will see the highlights!

It was a fun night, reminded me of when we would take Maddie. I am sure we will be at alot more games this summer!

The Big Day

The next Saturday after graduation, May 1st, Brittney and Micah were married in the Las Vegas Temple!! It was a wonderful sealing and I was so happy to witness it. There is no other feeling in the world like there is in the temple and I was very touched to be surrounded by family and friends on both sides of the veil for this special occasion. It brought me back to when Jordan and I got married 5 1/2 years ago and the same happiness was experienced. Brittney and Micah have been dating for over 3 years now and I am so happy that they decided to take the next step of being married!

So here is how the day went...

They got married at 1pm and this is after with the start of the never ending pictures!!! This is all of our side of the family:aunts and uncles, cousins, Grandma, and Great Aunt and Uncle.

We had a luncheon at our house after the temple for everyone while the rest of us finished the details of the reception. Brittney did an amazing job at creating the look of the reception, so detailed which was a pain to set all up but looked soooo good all put together. Brittney had the ideas and with alot of my parents help they pulled off quite a reception!!!

So onto the details....

Brittney made their sign in book. Each page was different, so unique and so cute.

The theme she was going for was rustic and antique, old looking, and she totally pulled it off. I loved these signs we made.

The flowers were gorgeous. Their colors were peach, rose, cream, brown... all in that same family which made everything look so elegant.

This was one of my favorite details. On the property of the reception there is this huge windmill and Brittney wanted the cakes to be inside of it. So my handy little Dad made a board that fit exactly inside to hold the cakes.

Then for the pedestals for the cakes were lanterns that my handy little Dad, again, made platforms to go on top to set the cakes on.

They buffet was set up on the back of a '57 Chevrolet truck which was such a big hit. It looked so awesome!

Again, all of these were Brittney's ideas! She is one creative lady! Between two poles she strung hemp zig-zagged and hung a bunch of photos of them by mini clothes pins.

And see that tree in the back? Yes, we wrapped 4 huge trees in lights along with tieing little lanterns in the trees and lining the tent with lights too!

And here is the grand tent, chandeliers and all.

The centerpieces were awesome. She wanted just a lot of groupings of certain flowers on each table along with some lanterns, chalk boards, and decorative balls. All of the table cloths were different colors and fabrics made by my talented Mom.

The DJ started up and so did the dancing!! Drake had so much fun with his cousins Bella and Grayson!

My Dad is an awesome dancer and Britt wanted a semi fast dance for the father/daughter dance. They looked so great out there and with everyone cheering made it so fun to watch!

The Newlyweds! Doesn't her hair look awesome? I wish I had a back shot of it because it was in a loose braid across the back that Brandy did. So beautiful!

In honor of it being May 1st, May Day, Brittney wanted a Maypole, and that is exactly what she got! All of her good girl friends did it with her.

I loved dancing with Jordan. He would come find me when a slow song would come on, bring me up to the dance floor and I loved it.

The night ended with more dancing and a pathway lit up with sparklers to say goodbye to Britt and Micah. The night was magical and so fun. Everything was pulled off amazingly and the hard work was worth it! Now they are off in Maui enjoying a wonderful honeymoon!

I am so excited for them to start their lives together as husband and wife and I am also excited to have Micah as a brother in law now!
