Red, White and Blue

Happy 4th of July! We had a packed, busy, awesome, fun, tiring weekend!! We loved it, and it was all spent with great friends. Friday night we had a fun night playing games late into the evening, Saturday we went to the lake and had a blast, followed by bowling with everyone and Sunday we had a big BBQ at our house! So much fun! Jordan and I are big into holidays, we love decorating our house and making the day special whatever the holiday is. And this year was no exception. We loved having all of our friends over and celebrating with them. Like I have said before there is never a dull moment when we all get together!
This is us in our Red White and Blue trying to get a good family picture before church!

Our little fire cracker

All the kids at the BBQ (minus Chase and Tyson).
Ava, Ben, Drake, Tanner, Brynlee and Norah

This was such a cute picture of Ava and Norah!

The Fam and can I say that Drake looks huge here! I can't believe how big he is getting! No wonder why it looks like I am struggling to hold him up.

Holly, Brandilyn, Kingston and I
All 25 of us in our Reds, Whites and Blues!
As the night went on and with the rumor that all fireworks were cancelled in Round Rock we put on a movie for the kids and the adults went outside on the patio and played an old school game of...Mafia!
It was hilarious as you can see, and I think Melinda takes it for best defense!
We played more games inside, the house was a disaster, babies were asleep everywhere...it was awesome. We loved having everyone over for such a great 4th and can't wait for the next get together!

Miss Brandy

Brandy got to stay 5 days longer than everyone else and as much as I was sad, really sad, to see everyone go I was glad I still had Brandy to hang out with! We had such a fun time together and I love being around her. She is such a happy person and that happiness is contagious. We laid out one day, went shopping the next, watched old movies from when we grew up, and talked a lot. I love her so much. One of the nights we went with all my girl friends to see Eclipse at midnight and I loved having her there with me!

Brandy, Me, Edward, Cassie and Holly. I love how we took Edward from strangers for our picture!

The girls!
Brandy, Me, Holly, Brandilyn, Cassie, (up top) Wendy, Melinda, Nina and Jennie.
Way fun night and good movie too!

Drake loved Aunt Brandy. I think Brandy said "I am going to miss you so much" to him everyday and I know if Drake could talk he would say the same thing.

Sad to say good bye, loved having her here and I am so excited we have her sold on Texas! We are crossing our fingers she moves out here one day. That would be so fun. But for the meantime, she can visit any time she wants! Love you Brands. Check her blog out at brandylangford.blogspot.com

Gone Way To Fast

You know when you look forward to something for so long, then the day finally comes and it's as good as you imagine but then gone way to fast...well that is how the last 2 1/2 weeks have been for us. My family came into town for a little vacay and it came and went way to fast but we had sooo much fun.

Drake loved Gram Tam from the first step she walked in the door.

He looked like this pretty much the whole 2 1/2 weeks.

And this... his "get a reaction" face.

It was a pretty chill time, especially while they were working on the patio. But we still kept entertained and had a lot of fun like this.
and this...

and this.

One of the days we went downtown and went kayaking. We have done this one time before and it was just as much fun the second time around! Except for the snake that was swimming right in front of me. Talk about freak out.

We also went bowling which is always a good time!

We stopped and saw Maddie on the way to the airport for Britt and Micah. The fountains were finally on and they caught Drake's eye right away. We stripped him down and he had a blast. It made me think that Maddie would have done the exact same. The fountains were one of the reasons we picked her spot in the cemetery...she absolutely loved water.

Such a fun trip. I miss them already. Luckily Brandy was able to stay 5 days more which was a blast. I love my family and especially love having them here in Texas!

Remember this?...

The slab of concrete my Dad helped us pour in March? Well he's back!!! 2 weeks ago my fam came out to visit and the plan was to finish the roof over the patio. And that is exactly what they did. 5 straight days in the hot, humid June heat of Texas working away and we now have a beautiful extended patio. Awesome does not describe it! Here's is how it all went down.

After half the day at a lumber yard and trips to 2 different Home Depot's they were ready to start framing.

I think every day there was at least 2-4 trips made to Home Depot for more material but that's what happens right? Who knows. Brittney and I were assigned to stain the roof of the patio and Micah was a gem and volunteered as well, that is on more than just the roof. It was so stinkin' hot!

Micah and Jordan nailing in the shingles. Another hot job.

Can you tell?

Drake got restless a couple of times being couped up inside but he did enjoy his little pool, and us girls did too!

Getting there...Jordan installed the fans and Dad finished up the decorative posts.

And voila! The finished product! They did such a great job. My Dad amazes me every time at how handy he is and what he can do. They worked hard, really hard, sun up till sun down and it shows. Big thanks to Dad and Micah, we really appreciate it.
