Fun times with Mimi & Papa

Gary and Judy were able to come visit all last week and we had such a great time with them. Like I always say we LOVE when visitors come! We stayed busy, ate really well, had great weather and saw some fun stuff around the city. Drake absolutely loved having them here to play with!

Jord took off Friday and we went and ate at Iguana Grill overlooking the lake which was gorgeous. Such a change from last year with the drought!

Judy has always wanted to see the Lady Bird gardens and we finally made it this time around! We were a little disappointed at the lack of flowers that were there, but there were a lot of plants to look at!

Blue bonnets are in full bloom right now and I have never seen this amount ever in all the years we have lived here. It is so beautiful driving down the road with all of the wild flowers in bloom. So we found a patch (not on the side of the road but at the gardens!) and "tried" to get a picture of Drake. Out of the 15 Gary and I took, this is probably the only good one!

All of us at the gardens

Mimi & Papa!

Gary & Jordan climbing this thing. I don't know what it was but I liked the stone on it!

Drake pointing at them.

The next day we went down to Congress street and as we were nearing closer we start seeing all of these restored cars cruisin' the street and parked everywhere. Gary starts naming off all of the types of cars and before we know it we are in the middle of a big car fest that just happened to be going on that day. The cars were pretty sweet to look at and I was glad that Gary was having such a great time seeing all of them. After eating a delicious cupcake at "Hey Cupcake" we walked Congress admiring all of the cars.
I had to take a pic of Gary because this is how he looked the whole way down!

Drake enjoying the view!

There were massive amounts of people down there which made it pretty fun to be in the midst of it all. There is nothing like getting a little "people watching" in!

There aren't to many times where Drake will cuddle and lay his head down on you, so I had to document this for Jordan. I can see it in Jordan's eyes that his heart melts everytime he does this.

We had such a great time with Judy & Gary and love when they come to visit. Thankyou both for visiting!!!

Happy Easter

Easter weekend was very relaxing since it was also General Conference weekend. I love my calling but I have to admit all week I was very excited to have Sunday off from church! I love being able to listen and regroup in a sense, my priorities and goals in life. With it being spring, General Conference, warm weather...it's a perfect time to take a breath of fresh air of motivation. Easter is a special time for Jordan and I as we reflect on the Resurrection and what that means for us. Because of Him we are able to return back to our Sweet Madison and that is a breath of fresh air by itself. I think I have mentioned this before, but when I find myself thinking of Maddie and the accident and that day I have noticed my body will automatically take a deep breath, every time without fail, almost telling myself to calm down and go somewhere else. As time has passed I don't take those deep breaths as often and the reason for that is being able to understand the "big picture" for my family and Maddie. Easter is a special day and we are excited to teach Drake more about Madison as he grows. I am humbled by the Resurrection and truly believe Christ lives.

This was the week before Easter in our Easter attire for church.
Between sessions of Conference we went and spent sometime at the cemetery and then found this field of fluorescent yellow flowers.

It was beautiful!

After Conference we went over to Wendy and Derek's as tradition now, with the Gardner's and had a delicious Easter dinner. After dinner the kids had a fun time doing an Easter egg hunt. Drake was pretty oblivious but still had fun chasing Norah and Jackson around!

After a fun filled day Drake had to sport his "Hoppy Easter" pjs to bed. What a hunk!
