The Superhero, The Blower, and The Flailing Sleeper

We didn't do much over the weekend but Drake always keeps it lively around here. Mimi and Papa gave this cape and mask to Drake for Christmas. He didn't really have any interest in it when he got but now oh you better be scared. The roaring super hero is out in full force everyday.

We cleaned out our garage on Saturday and Drake was all hands on deck. He especially loved the job of being the "blower."

Sunday came around and this year we have the dreaded one o'clock church which means no nap and we don't get home until around 4:30pm and by then it is way to late to have a nap. But that also means the lion comes out of Drake which no one wants to see or let's be honest be around. For example... Jordan was trying to undress Drake out of his church clothes yesterday, at the same I was also changing, and I just hear Drake crying and struggling alot. So I go in to see what the heck was going on and I see this flailing monster whom Jordan is trying to calm down. He didn't want his shirt off or tie, which is ironic because he hates wearing his tie, he didn't want his shoes taken off or his diaper changed...I mean just flailing himself every where, we were at a loss. It was almost quite comical because we knew he was so tired that he was basically delirious by now. The solution...offering his Elmo t-shirt and to watch Elmo with his blanket and pacifier on our bed. DONE. Jordan went to check on him about 10 minutes later and the poor guy was fast asleep. Keep in mind Drake has never fallen asleep any where but his carseat or his bed, once or twice in a stroller, but other than that he holds out. Not this time. I hope this isn't a glimpse to what every Sunday is going to be like for the rest of the year!

Look Who's Two!

On March 2nd Drake turned 2 years old! Where did the time go?! Who knows but we love this little boy so much and are so excited to continue to see him grow. I got the video camera out that morning and came in to his room singing Happy Birthday and he just stared at me the whole time, I started laughing because he didn't know what to do. The night before Jordan and I blew up some balloons so when he came out he was so excited!

That afternoon we went to the park with all of his little friends.

After a good nap we met Jordan at Toys R Us and picked out some fun toys and headed over to the mall to ride on the carousal and on the train! He loved both of them and kept saying "osee" (for horsey) and "choo choo".

His little boy happiness just made me smile.

Drake's birthday was on a Wednesday and that Saturday we had an Elmo party!

Drake did awesome at blowing all of his candles out!

His party was so cute and fun. Alot of work but with everyone's help it all turned out great! Like I said before I cannot believe Drake is now 2! He has such a HUGE personality that makes me smile. He is my little buddy that follows me around everywhere. He loves his books, naps, food, coloring, watching Elmo and Curious George, loves playing outside (especially while blowing bubbles), is great in nursery, he loves scooting a chair up to the counter to see what I am doing, loves to be chased, loves playing catch, loves his baths and brushing his teeth, loves pushing the limits, and loves giving kisses and hugs. He is one of a kind and I am happy to say he is ours.

New Curtains!

I don't know why it took me almost 5 years to finally complete our front room with curtains but what a difference it does make. I was stumped on this huge window and what kind of window treatment to do. At first I was thinking of building a cornice box, but then was weary of that and then I was thinking of doing 3 panels but didn't want to do that because that window is our main source of light and I couldn't find any fabric options that I loved for a reasonable price. So my sweet friend Cassie gave me a light bulb idea to make them myself and cut a pole in half and put the panels on each side. So I went shopping for fabric and found some I loved and Cassie and her generous Mom helped me make them! They were such a great help, let's be honest they did it all...I just ironed! But I absolutely love them and it totally finishes the room! My lighting isn't the best in these pics so you really can't see the colors in them but they go with all of the paint colors in my home. What a difference.

Happy Valentine's Day

This little guy makes everyday full of LOVE.

Jordan and I both love a reason to get dressed up and have a nice dinner with great friends. We had a great Valentine's dinner with Ryan and Brandilyn at the swanky Flemming's. It was oh so delicious and such a great evening.
