The Crown without the Conflict

This is Jordan, I wanted to get online and post a little bit about how we are doing. Each day is a little better. We have and will continue to go through a lot of “firsts” over the next years that will be hard without Maddie. We try to stay busy all day long and be exhausted as we go to bed so we will fall asleep quickly. It is the quiet moments that your mind begins to wander that are rough. I miss her hugs, I miss her kisses. I miss the funny things that she would say. She brought so much joy into my life.

I wanted to thank everyone who attended or participated in the funeral, we felt it was a beautiful tribute to Maddie’s life and it showed the influence she had on so many. I was so proud of the job Marlo did, she captured who Maddie is and why so many people loved her.

Many people have sent us books which have helped us through this time. One book that we have really enjoyed reading is Angel Children by Mary V. Hill. She talks about her own experiences with the death of her child and how the doctrine from the church on the topic helped her through it. One of the quotes in the book will actually be on Maddie’s headstone, “The Crown without the Conflict.” I love it.

We feel your prayers; our lives are blessed because of the faith of so many. Thank you so much for all you have done for our family. It has been a great comfort to us all.
