Bittersweet

No pictures for this post, although I wish I would have taken one of each of my presidencies, but unfortunately my time has come to be released from primary. So Sad! For as much as I am sad, I kind of new in my heart it was time as well. I had just felt I had done everything I could for our primary and my time was up. So when I got the call from my Bishop, Jordan and I both knew (or speculated) that it was to release me. I have to admit I won't miss the responsibility of all that primary entails BUT I will miss those I worked with and seeing the children every week. I grew to love those children so much and my calling became a part of me. Needless to say last Sunday was a bit of a tear jerker saying bye. I was in that calling for 2 years so it is a little odd thinking I don't have a million things on my plate right now! But when one era of your life ends a new one begins and my new era is in Young Women's! I am really excited to be working with the youth and the girls in my ward. It's such a different dynamic than primary but I am excited for the challenge!

Has is Really Been a Month?

Well so far our summer has been ALOT of fun. Our planned week and a half vacation turned into a month vacation being able to see many friends and family along the way. We counted 5 states we traveled through! We were lucky enough everything just worked out and we had a blast. So to break our weeks down... here is week #1!
We went up to Mack's Inn, Idaho with Jordan's family and had a big family reunion. We love spending time with the Walburger's and made lots of memories together. The last time we had been up there we were just engaged so it was great being able to go after such a long time. We floated the rivers, went into Yellowstone and saw some great wildlife, spent time with extended family, Drake loved spending time with his cousins (Eliza we love you! :), we went to a fun rodeo, some of us got to do a session in the Rexburg temple, ect. I love family reunions and since we don't get to see many of Jordan's brothers and their families that often it made it all the more special. We definitely missed Beth, Ty, and Ben but we hope to see them soon! Thanks Gary and Judy for such a wonderful reunion!

Week #2-

On the way back down from Idaho we met up with our good friends, the Barton's who used to live in Texas and we stayed with them for a week in Utah. We miss them so much in Texas but we had a blast spending time with them. We got to be with Alyse's family for the first part of the week and Paul's the second. We had so much fun with both and appreciate their open arms! We had fun boating, going to the Hogel Zoo in SLC, getting pedicures with the girls, going to a demolition derby, riding the rangers! (Jordan's favorite part!)...can you tell we had a great time?! Tate, Taylor and Paislie we miss you guys! Paul and Alyse we better see you soon in Texas!! Thanks again!

Week #3 and 4-

From the Barton's we caught up with Brandy and drove down to Las Vegas to be with my family for a while. Again, none of this was planned! We lucked out by being on free plane tickets so we could just keep changing them. And FYI I had only packed to be up in Idaho, so we had jeans and sweatshirts heading down to Vegas with only a couple summer outfits! But hey we just kept doing laundry and it was great. We had a great time in Vegas as well. We went to the lake alot, which is probably one of my most favorite things to do. I love Lake Mead. We grew up on that lake and I love going back.
One of the days, Jordan got us the hook up at this place in Vegas called Flip 'n' Out. It is a big warehouse and a huge section of it is all trampolines. Even the walls are trampolines. So Britt, Micah, Brandy, Jordan and I all went and it was hilarious. We were all trying to do tricks running around, we played dodge ball in there... pure fun. We loved it.
The weekend before I left, my family drove back up to Utah to attend my cousin's wedding. Heather and Mike got married in the new Oquirrh Mountain temple. They are a beautiful couple and the temple was so pretty as well. I love seeing how different each temple is and this one is just as gorgeous. Their reception was so pretty and it was great spending time with my family.

Jordan had already gone home but that next Wednesday I took off and headed back to Texas. It was such a great vacation seeing everyone and doing so many different things but it was great to be home again as well. I have to say that it was really refreshing being around so much family and friends during the month of July as we reached the 2 year mark, on July 27th, of Maddie's passing. I look back and I am so glad how everything turned out. It is still hard to believe that is has been 2 years, almost surreal. But that is why we love the gospel, family and friends!
