What A Project

For a while now we have been going back and forth on wanting to build a patio out back, figuring out finances, what kind of material we wanted to use, when we could do it....BUT we finally made the decision to do it. The plan was to have my Dad help us pour a patio while visiting for Drake's 1st Birthday. So Jordan and I had to be prepared and have the foundation ready for my Dad to frame it and pour the concrete. Let me tell you, I know more about bids, the equipment, wood...I know more about this process than I want to but I was glad to help. After about 75 trips with the wheel barrel full of dirt and hours and hours of time spent raking it smooth, we were ready. Our bodies hurt really bad! Dad came in at 12:30AM on Saturday morning and was up by 5:30am to get out there and start working to be ready for a 11am pour. What a project! With the help of all of our friends, 2 missionaries and our neighbor Mike we got it done and I love it. It's not completely finished, we want to build a roof on it, but it looks awesome and I am so excited to have it! A big thankyou to all of our friends, Jordan, my Dad, Missionaries and Mike for a job WELL done!!

Beginning stages
The start of many trips with the wheel barrel.

The foundation after hours and hours of raking and tampering!!

My Dad ready for the concrete!

More wheel barreling! This time with cement!

Dad and Mike smoothing it out.

More smoothing and all of our support!

The finished product!

Not only is your Dad the nicest man on earth --- is there anything he can't do?

It looks awesome. Way to go on prep'ing and doing a patie. Most impressive!
