Summer Wrap Up

We love our friends!  We spent a lot of time at the pool and the library this summer...anything to stay cool!

Drake tells us that he is going to marry Brynlee one day.  I subbed in nursery last week and they stuck together the whole 2 hours.  They have to sit by each other for all of the activities, singing time, and snack time.  They are besties.

 From March to end of July, Drake was in swim lessons and did really well.  He looked forward to them each week and learned to hold his breath, float on his back, enter the water and kick off the side of the pool and water safety.  He is a little fish so this was so good for him.

 We had a couple of sickies for a little while, both Drake and Lydia got strep throat which was no fun.

 Lydia started crawling this summer!  Now she is pulling up on everything and cruises around all of the furniture.

 Jordan took Drake to his first baseball game and they were both so excited.  They stayed late and Drake had so much fun eating so many treats and catching a ball.  Jordan said Drake was yelling to all the players "Give me a Ball!" the whole game.  

 We took Drake to see Brave.

 Jordan was a groomsman in his best friend's wedding.  He had such a fabulous time with Peter and some of his high school buddies.   We are so excited for Peter and Shannon to start their lives together.

 Now that is is football season, Drake is all about this jersey!  He asks to wear it everyday, literally. The minute he wakes up he brings it to me to put it on him and when Jordan gets home from work Drake tells him to change into a Texas shirt and basketball shorts like him.  So cute.

 The firemen came to the library and Drake was all about getting in that truck.  He went up to one of the firemen and asked " Where is the ladder?" He wanted to know what everything was and what everything did.  He told me on the way home that he was going to be a fireman when he gets bigger and will help people.  They taught the kids to say "Here I Am!" if a firefighter came in their house when there was a fire, so now Drake always tells me that is what he is going to say.  I am always so impressed at how well he listens and retains information.

This summer we spent some time at home and these two have become best buds.  Drake is so sweet to Lydia and plays with her all of the time.  She lights up when he comes around and laughs at him all the time.  I love that she is old enough to play together.

 Drake's new obsession...Super heroes!  Thanks to Jordan he knows all of them, what they do, and what their weapons are.  It's actually pretty cute.  I would much rather him be all about these than Star Wars!  He is such a dress up boy.  He is in some sort of costume everyday all day, whether it be one of these masks, a cape, his pirate outfit... he is always in something.  He loves looking through all the halloween costume magazines that have been coming in the mail, he will just sit on the couch saying which ones he wants.  He is just getting bigger and older everyday.
